Q) Can you provide me with a description of your business?
A) As a financial advisor I build a relationship with clients by listening to what’s important to them, helping identify financial goals and design a plan to achieve success.
Q) What is your role with the company?
A) Co-owner / financial advisor
Q) What is unique about your business?
A) I live for building long term relationships with my clients! Being a financial advisor is not all numbers, algorithms, and statistics – it’s listening to my clients and helping them feel confident in the financial plan that we build together.
Q) How did you get started in this business?
A) My first year in financial services was 2007/2008 which is now referred to as the “financial crisis of 2008”one of the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression. I remember thinking that if I get through this first year I’ll know that this is the career I want for the rest of my life. Nearly 14 years later I’m still in financial services and co-own my company!
Q) How long have you been a part of MBN? A) 2009/2010 I was invited to a meeting by a co-worker and haves looked forward to the general meetings each month since.
Q) What is your favorite part of MBN?
A) Getting to meet other rad professional women and be inspired by them!
Q) What are you involved in outside of work?
A) I am a board member for the Missoula Children’s Theater and board member and finance committee member for Providence Health Foundation.
Q) What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you? ‘
A) “ Keep showing up…for others, for yourself and for causes that inspire you.”
Q) What is the one thing you wish you’d known before you started your journey to your current position?
A) That as a financial advisor that I would get the privilege of being part of so many people’s lives. It’s the best job in the world!
Q) If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
A) Volunteer! Find a local organization or nonprofit and get involved, even 1 hour a month or a couple times a year. Careers can be stressful and hard at times and giving selflessly and seeing the difference you can make helps keep life in perspective.
