| “I am approaching my 10 year anniversary in Missoula! I can’t believe how quickly the time has flown by. We lived here in Missoula in the 90s and relocated to the East Coast for hubby’s career. We had some exciting years in Connecticut and Boston. |
We raised our two children and sent them back here to Montana for University. Finally, we decided to join our grown children and grandchildren in Missoula 10 years ago. We have six beautiful grandchildren. Realizing that I was going to be the sole support of our family, I had to really think what I wanted to do to make that living. I have worked in insurance for a long time.
Before that, I was a drill sergeant in the Israeli army and a home daycare operator. At a certain point, I knew that I couldn’t work for anyone again and that the only path for me was as an agency owner. We packed the car, and as we drove across country, my phone rang and the recruiter for Farmers asked if I would like to be an agency owner. I told her that my brother is a Farmers agent and that I was headed her way to open the agency. I said I will see her on Monday, and that’s what I did. It has been exactly what I wanted it to be. I work alone and perfectionist that I am, everything is done to my high standards.
In the meantime, I learned Reiki and am a Reiki Master. I prefer to work with dogs, so I am a pet sitter on Rover.com when I am not in the office. Sometimes people will see my certificate on the wall next to my insurance license and request a session. I do Reiki sessions for humans in the office after hours, by request.
We recently bought a house and completely remodeled it with new floors, new kitchen—the entire downstairs is new. It has been fun and a source of great pride! Every time I come home, there is something new to admire. I love MBN and its members. I have made some wonderful friendships and am so happy to call many my clients.
I am the Secretary of the Board. Despite COVID, I am looking forward to a great year!”
